Message	calipers, heck 15" wheels will fit on the rear. The place to test a wheel is the FRONT. The problem w. the spacers isn't that they where not on "tight enough" its the fact that the lugs are too short to hold the wheel once you/they added the thickness of that spacer. You needed to have longer lugs installed if you expected to use a spacer that thick. I would also suggest using a quality spacer (H&R) that is hub centric and only as thick as you need it.
